What is the mercy? In the dictionary, the synonyms for Mercies are compassionate, act of kindness, favor, and compassionate treatment.

In Hebrew is hesed or chesed, which means goodness, kindness, and faithfulness.

In Lamentations 3:22-23 says:

22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,

for his compassions never fail.

23 They are new every morning;

great is your faithfulness.

I am introducing here that GOD is a great GOD full of mercies. Did you know this?

Why am I talking about the mercies of GOD. Well, I am going to give this verse in Job 33:14-30 and it is long so I am going to summarize but I desire you to read it so you can understand.

The verses are about how Job thought that GOD was punishing Him because he thought that GOD “considers [Job] His enemy.” However, Elihu, a young man, that was hearing all of this, spoke to Job about the mercies of GOD, saying that GOD will not just punish you in such a way that you are not aware of it.

Elihu mentions that GOD speaks one way or another to warn someone to turn from His wicked ways before judgment comes to him. God is not a GOD of surprise in the sense that He is going to discipline you right away but gives you time to repent as He warns you of what you have done so you may turn from it.

GOD is revealing His mercies when He gives an individual time to repent, as is shown in this example.

Years ago, around 2020-2021, GOD spoke of something coming and by His mercies, He spoke for His people to come back to Him. When He says come back to Him, you are not walking in the path He called you to walk.

Here’s the WORD of the LORD:

I am patient with my children but I can only be as patient as the time permits. Seek me my children. Stop idolizing the world and its treasures. It has no value. I am the TRUE JEWEL that you should seek. I am the TRUE JEWEL. Seek me first! Always remember, do not lose heart.

(References: Matthew 13:44-46, Mark 4, Colossians 3:2, John 1:12, specifically children, Matthew 6:33)

As Christians, we are called to walk the narrow way because wide is the road to destruction.

In His mercies, GOD is revealing His love for you. He could’ve let all of us go our own way but GOD is a good GOD, wanting to bring us back to Him.

Jesus Christ, the LORD and Savior, is the salvation of the world. In GOD’s mercy, Abba Father sent His own Son Jesus Christ, who willingly, died for us so we wouldn’t experience GOD’s wrath. We are living in a world that oppresses us to do what we want because it seems right.

But the WORD says that there is a way that seems right to man but it leads to death (Proverbs 16:25).

The Father does not want us to lead to death but to come to Jesus Christ who gives us life where are not oppressed by worldly ideas but walking in freedom, a peace that only comes from saying no to the world and saying yes to Jesus Christ, who gives us life and life in abundance.

I want to talk about Mercy because I believe the LORD wants us to know how merciful He is! Do you know that GOD, in His great mercies does not want anyone to perish?

In 2 Peter 3:9, the WORD says:

The LORD is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand sloweness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

This is why He keeps sending this warning because He loves you and wants you on His side. He’s giving us the time to repent and get right with Him because it may be too late if you decide to get right with Him later on.

Do not be like the foolish virgins who were not prepared and then they could attend the wedding banquet! Please read the blog post about this here!

In Exodus 12, the LORD spoke through Moses to prepare a Passover meal, which is now a celebration celebrated by the Jews. In this Passover, the Israelites were to prepare a Passover meal containing these: One year of lamb, bitter herbs, and bread without yeast.

When preparing the Lamb, it had to be roasted and the blood of the lamb had to be placed on the doorpost because GOD was going to come and kill the firstborn of Egypt. If you did not have the blood of the lamp on your doorpost, the firstborn would die in the household. This was the 10th plague and the last plague that GOD placed on Egypt.

But here’s the thing: the blood of the lamb had to be placed on the doorpost because it was a protection for them from the destroyer who was to complete the 10th plague.

The lamb here that was prepared is a revelation of our LORD Jesus Christ, who died for us, and by His blood, we are clean, forgiven of sins, protected, and GOD’s wrath does not come upon us. But we have to walk the right way, GOD’s way to keep the blood to avail for us.

We cannot keep sinning, willingly, and go to GOD for forgiveness. That’s not how that works. Now we are human beings and we make mistakes. But if we, with our heart, and by faith, come to GOD and repent of our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9; Isaiah 53).

THAT’S GOD’S MERCIES!

Now if you read Exodus 12, verse 11, it shows you the way how GOD wanted them, the Israelites to prepare for this Passover: girded up and eating the food with haste. Meaning, that they had to prepare because there was not a lot of time to waste because the 10th plague was coming: the death of the firstborn.

Now why am I saying all of this? Because the LORD, I believe, in His mercies, and I mean great mercies, is giving us the time to prepare ourselves for what’s coming.

But first, we need to prepare our hearts!

We need to prepare our heart by repenting, where repentance and rest is our salvation. When we repent, think differently, walk away from sin, put to death the flesh, and now walk in the abundant life only found in Jesus Christ that is when we rest in Him, our everlasting salvation.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says:

If my people who are called by my name, would humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins and will heal their land.

In addition, renew our minds, meaning that we trust in Him in everything we do with ALL of our hearts and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Meaning we do not go our own way, but commit to Him, in His plan (Proverbs 16:3).

Then when our hearts are prepared, allowing Him to guide our life, quietness, and trust is our strength (Isaiah 30:15). Meaning that even when we go through tough times, our acknowledgment of Him and trusting in Him to get us through it will strengthen us to get us through the hard times.

In Psalm 46:1-3, the WORD says:

GOD is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam.

Abba wants us to also prepare because He does not want us to be surprised of what is going to come but our mind, heart, and focus is on Him, the foundation we stand on (Matthew 7:24-27).

So Abba Father, in His mercy is giving us time to repent but when He says something is coming He will not delay! So ready your heart and surrender your heart to Him! That is also by keeping your lamp burning and asking more of the Holy Spirit to be your Helper, who leads you into all truth (John 16:12-15).

I believe that the 1st instruction He continues to tell us, His children, the Church, is to repent. Fast and pray, and pray without ceasing. Repent, even if you think you didn’t do anything so your robe is clean because what may be unknown to you is known to GOD (Psalm 19:12).

GOD in His great Mercies is giving us this time to do this but do not delay it and what He says He will do, and He will not delay (Ezekiel 12:25, Habakkuk 2:3)!
