As I was doing devotional, I believe the Spirit of the LORD revealed something different regarding Micah 4:12, from the previous post I wrote before. But let’s start from verse 11 and finish at verse 13.
But now many nations
have assembled against you,
those who are saying, “Let her be defiled,
and let our eyes gaze on Zion.”
But they do not know Adonai’s thoughts,
nor understand His plan.
For He has gathered them
like grain to a threshing floor.
Arise and tread, Daughter of Zion,
for I will make your horn iron,
and I will make your hooves bronze.
You will thresh many peoples.
I will devote their unjust gain to Adonai,
their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.
I want to specifically highlight verse 12 regarding the threshing floor. I believe that Abba Father, the GOD of the universe, heaven, and earth, is threshing the church, His children, and the bride of Christ.
So when I was reading about the threshing floor, I had to look it up. Reading on the history, it is basically when people gathered a bunch of grains together to clean it. They place the grain on a threshing floor where they thresh, which means to stamp, or tramp on it, removing what is not of the grain. Then it is winnowed, which is to throw the grain in the air andif there is strong wind, the chaff which is not part of the grain and lighter, is blown away, while the heavier grain falls to the ground.
Now I had to look at the word thresh in the thesaurus, which means to chasten or chastize. And what is Chasten? To humble, remove, or correct.
What does this tell us?
The LORD GOD is humbling the church. The LORD GOD is correcting the church. As a child is disciplined by their parents, so is GOD disciplining the church.
Now we all should know that being disciplined is not good at all. It’s uncomfortable and painful to the one that isreceiving it, but it teaches the individual the way they should go and when they grow, they will not depart from it.
Remembering the word chastise or chasten, I looked up the bible verse and found the words in Deuteronomy 8:5 and Hebrews 12:10.
Deuteronomy 8:5
Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.
The LORD disciplines us.
Hebrews 12:10
For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
The LORD disciplines because it is for our profit so that we be partakers in His Holiness.
GOD desires us to be Holy as He is Holy.
So let’s humble ourselves before the LORD and intercede for the church and the nation. We live in a nation that is defiledby many things such as homosexuality, sexual immorality, stealing, lying, and various other things.
But, we as the church are children of God that is set apart for Him.
We are His OWN.
