In 1 John 3:19-21, the Word says, “This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God”
Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, in how we present ourselves confidently before the LORD. The only reason we are not confident, is that we fully don’t have the love of God in us. The Love of God is not fully living in us because we are still guarding our hearts, still seeking things that takes precedence over the LORD. But the word says, to set our hearts at rests. The definition of rest is to refrain from labor or exertion. It’s basking.
Think of Psalms 23, where the David describes that the Good Shepherd makes him lie down in green pastures, leads him beside still quiet waters, and restore his soul. Resting in the LORD is letting Him take care of us. He knows everything about us.
Therefore what He wants to do, because He knows it all, is rest in Him to take care of you, your heart, your dreams that He has put in you, and your purpose. Let Him give you rest so that you don’t have to strive for anything in life anymore, but only walk with Him, in confidence. In the truth. Walk in power, love, and sound mind, in Jesus name.
