In Proverbs 10:2, the word says, “Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death.”
Treasures, material things, that is gained dishonestly is wrong, it has no value. But living in righteousness does. Are you living in righteousness in God through Jesus Christ? We live in a world where the wisdom of man dwells and says, if you have material wealth and earthly treasures, you will be happy. Now, I’m not putting down material wealth, because God gives us the power to gain wealth (Deut 8:18) but if you are trusting in your material things, and you love it more than God, then you are walking idolatry.
Wealth is good, it’s a tool, a resource to spend on nice things and further the kingdom of God. But do not set up treasures on earth where moths and vermin’s will destroy it. Store up treasures in heaven and not below. What are the treasures? Walking rightly before God. Walking in righteousness in God through Jesus Christ.
Your walk with Him matters more than wordy possessions. God does not look on the outward appearance but He looks into the heart. Eternal life is knowing the Father and the Son (John 17:3). Building your relationship with God matters more. This in turn brings true wealth and right living.
Walk in power, love, and sound mind in Jesus name.
