You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, to show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness and into his marvelous light. First Peter 2:9. What is this telling you?
And I want to highlight this particular word holy. The word Holy is an interesting word. The word says that God is holy, and God calls us to be holy as he is holy. When you define the word holy, it means to be set apart and to be sacred.
So what does this tell you? because your identity is in Christ, you are being set apart for him, and because you are fearfully and wonderfully made in God, you are called to be like him. He doesn’t seek validation from the world. He doesn’t dwell nor abide where sinners are, but he loves them and He is still God over them. though Jesus lived in the world, he did not associate himself with the world.
Just as you, are called to be holy, do not associate with the world. You are called to learn and grow, where you are spiritually mature, therefore, be a holy nation, showing forth the praise of Him who has called you out of darkness and into His marvelous light.
