John 3:16 – The Depth of Salvation
John 3:16, the WORD says, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Whether you are listening to this or reading this for the first time, please go back and listen/read the first part of this teaching. It would make sense to read/listen to this from the first part because I am unveiling the Bible verse 3:16. I began with for GOD so loved the world – the purpose of salvation. And in this episode/post, I am going to continue with the third part, But have everlasting life – the depth of salvation
Let’s briefly look at these three in the verse John 3:16:
- For the God so loved the world – the purpose of salvation
- that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, – the work of salvation
- ⏩ But have everlasting life – the depth of salvation
The first episode Excerpt: In the first episode we talked about the purpose of Salvation, in which GOD so loved the world that he preplanned a time, a season, a day of redemption so we would no longer be separated from GOD, but would now cleave to him through Christ Jesus, who became the sacrifice, who redeemed/freed/and delivered us from sin. Better yet, for us return, come back to the Father.
Second Episode excerpt: So when we talk about the work of salvation, we talk about Jesus Christ, whom the Father sent due to [his] love for the world. GOD sent this son, His only begotten son to save us, to redeem/free/deliver us from the conscious acts of sin that leads to death to the having the mind of Christ that is pure, true, noble, praiseworthy. He did that by speaking to us about the truth, the truth that came from the mouth of the holy one, Abba Father GOD. Remember, Jesus Christ came on earth to do the will of the Father. What Jesus Christ spoke was what the Father led Him to speak. Jesus Christ talked about various of things, the truth to make us clean, to break the lies of the enemy, to renew our minds, and stand on truth.
When we talk about the depth of salvation we go way deeper. The last of part of the verse, we talk about eternal life. What is eternal life? The answer is found in John 17:3, in which the word says, and this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.
What is this verse saying? That eternal life is knowing the Father and Jesus Christ better and better. But why would that be important to know god better and better and the son?
When you’re married to someone for a year or it is the beginning of a marriage, you’re only going to know the some aspect of your spouse. But with Time, and growth, you get to know more of them. This is similar with knowing the Father and the Son. When we have received the salvation through Jesus Christ, we now are on a journey, a lifetime journey, to know Jesus Christ and the Father, and we will continually do this the rest of our lives, eternal life that is.
Now I want to specifically focus on the words eternal life because I thought this revelation was beautiful and it made sense, if I can say that. So, As I mentioned, eternal life is knowing the Father and Son. I also want to give you several verses that grounds what I am going to speak about next:
- John 17:17, the word says, sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
- John 15:3, the word says, now ye are clean through the Word which I have spoken unto you
- Romans 10:17, the word says, so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of god.
- Ephesians 5:-2526, talk about the role of a husband, in which he should be the representation of Christ, but I am going to highlight what his role is to his wife, as Jesus Christ to the church: “husbands, love you wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.”
Almost all these bible verses talk about how the word sanctifies, or makes us clean. Romans 12:2, the word says, and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
When you receive the WORD by faith (Romans 10:17), the word begins to renew your mind, it feeds you according to the new identity you now have in Christ Jesus. And when you renew your mind, your thoughts/ways/actions/words can longer live like the world, it must live in freedom. Because you’re feeding on the truth and you’re receiving it by faith and walking in it, your new creation has to show, revealing that you are not of this world but is in Christ Jesus, in whom your identity is in.
When we talk about Eternal Life, let’s refer to John 3:16 and John 17:3. We’re going to be Breaking down the word Eternal Life. You already know eternal is infinity or forever. when you mention Life and life in abundance in Christ Jesus, that equals to eternal life. Remember, the blood cleanses us from all conscious acts to leads to death. So the opposite of death is life.
Life and life in abundance in Christ is not bound to lies nor enslavement of the world. As Jesus Christ said, “the enemy has no hold on me…” (John 14:30), the enemy does not have a hold on you either because of your freedom in Christ.
In this eternal life, You are set free to live in the spirit. You are called to live how you were meant to live, in the Spirit communicating with God, worshipping the father in Spirit and Truth. When you are in Christ, you are to be separate from the world. Living in the world does not produce freedom. Freedom is found in God through Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ revealed freedom when he was on earth.
There is also a revelation in the book of revelation 7:14, where the washing of robes was mentioned. There is a choice to live in freedom, just like how the people chose to wash their robes so it could be made white. Why? So they could be with God.
Our choice to be with God, to have eternal life, to live life and life in abundance, is a choice we need to make now. How we will live our lives daily, in life and life in abundance, is determined by our choices. As the people chose to wash their robes, to be pure before god, it is the time of essence to choose Jesus Christ, and to live life and life in abundance, because that is how you get to know God better and better. That is how you get to be like Christ as it is mentioned in Romans 8;29, the word says, “for whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His son, that He might the firstborn among many brethren.” When we know the Father and Jesus Christ better and Better, we imitate the father and become like Christ.
Eternal life is life and life in abundance. It Is where you are set free from the world, and are growing spiritually mature in Christ, as the Father conforms you to the image of Him.
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, Share this podcast or post with a fellow brother and sister in Christ, and even someone that may not know the LORD. GOD is desiring us to know purpose of His salvation, revealing how much He loves us. He also wants us to know the work of salvation that was done through Jesus Christ. And He also wanted us to know the depth of salvation, knowing Him better and better, because Salvation is what everyone in this world needs. We’re all here to reveal GOD the Father one way or another, as Jesus Christ did, so that those that are lost be found and be reunited with the Father, our Creator and the One who love us deeply. So make the choice, and choose to know GOD better and better, living the eternal that was given to by the Father through Christ Jesus our LORD.
Until next time, Have a good day and have good night. Glory to the Lord.
