John 3:16 – The Work of Salvation

John 3:16 – The Work of Salvation

John 3:16, the WORD says, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Whether you are listening to this or reading this for the first time, please go back and listen/read the first part of this teaching. It would make sense to read/listen to this from the first part because I am unveiling the Bible verse 3:16. I began with for GOD so loved the world – the purpose of salvation. And in this episode/post, I am going to continue with the second part, that He gave [his] only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, which is the work of salvation.

Let’s briefly look at these three in the verse John 3:16:

  1. For the God so loved the world – the purpose of salvation
  2. that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, – the work of salvation
  3. But have everlasting life – the depth of salvation

So let’s continue with the second part, the work of salvation.

Just to give a brief review: the purpose of salvation is about the love of GOD. It began when god created man in His likeness, His image. He gave us, man, authority and dominion, and to be caretakers of the earth (Genesis 1:26, Psalm 115:16), because He gave the earth to the children of men. When Adam fell, the authority/dominion was given to the devil, because of His disobedience to the LORD.

But because of GOD’s love, He pre-planned a time, a season, a day of redemption so we would no longer be separated from GOD, but would now cleave to HIM through Christ Jesus, who became the sacrifice, who redeemed/freed/and delivered us from sin. Better yet, for us return, come back to the Father. So when we talk about the purpose of salvation, we talk about the love of GOD, for GOD so loved the world.

So when we talk about the work of salvation, we talk about Jesus Christ, whom the Father sent due to [his] love for the world. GOD sent this son, [his] only begotten son to save us, to redeem/free/deliver us from the conscious acts of sin that leads to death. And bringing us to the having the mind of Christ that is pure, true, noble, praiseworthy. He did that by speaking to us about the truth, the truth that came from the mouth of the holy one, Abba Father GOD. Remember, Jesus Christ came on earth to do the will of the Father. What Jesus Christ spoke was what the Father led Him to speak. Jesus Christ talked about various of things: the truth to make us clean, to break the lies of the enemy, to renew our minds, and stand on truth.

Jesus Christ came on earth to reveal the Father, which explains the verse,  that whosoever believeth In Him, the one whom GOD sent, shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Those that believed in Christ Jesus, whom the Father sent on earth, received eternal life. Jesus Christ came on earth to reveal the Father, and to those that receive the truth Jesus Spoke from the Father, received eternal life, which means knowing the Father, and the son better and better (John 17:3).

The work of salvation is to cleanse us, to purify us, to renew our minds with the truth of the word of GOD. Jesus Christ came to reveal us what was in the Father’s heart so that we know and understand who the Father is. And through Christ Jesus, we grow to walk/talk in the ways of the Father.

We are so caught up in the world, distracted, that we end up being Spiritually asleep. If you remember the parable of the virgins, 5 of them were foolish and the other 5 were wise. The differences between those two groups is that the wise virgins were extra filled with the holy spirit, therefore spiritually growing in full maturity. They wise virgins were ensuring that they had enough oil to endure and await the coming of the bridegroom; while the foolish on the other end, did not ensure to fill their oil. They are still drinking the spirit milk, they are still carnal, rather than growing and walking in the spirit, which is spiritual maturity. We end up doing what we want to do, doing whatever is in our imagination, which is mentioned in genesis 6:5, as in the days of Noah. But Jesus Christ came to wake us up, speaking about the purpose of salvation, the work of salvation, the depth of salvation (which will be talked about in the last episode) and the coming of the end.

GOD was giving us, through Jesus Christ, the choice to choose him or to choose idols.

In Joshua 24:14-15, the word says, “Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Jesus Christ came to demonstrate the power of GOD that was worked through Him. Jesus Christ continued to reveal himself to be the way to the Father, the way to have a relationship with the Father and the son whom he sent. The Work of salvation revealed Jesus Christ  to be god and man, who was the perfect sacrifice to deliver us from sin, so that in him we would no longer live in sin that leads to death but to live in Jesus Christ that gives life and life in abundance.

Life and life in abundance is truth that sets us free so that we may freely live as children of god. Remember the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants to come to steal your freedom. He wants to come to steal your right as child of god who has authority and dominion through Jesus Christ. He wants to steal/kill/destroy your identity by giving you a false one. He wants to steal/kill/destroy you by giving you false truth that is found in the world such as it is okay fornicating before marriage, abortion is okay, homosexuality or LGTBQ is normal, listening to secular music about sex/money/fame is fine, and much more. But how can we know that these things are wrong if we’re not in the word and spending time with God, as He reveals these things to us by the Holy Spirit?

Jesus Christ mentioned that there are things that defile us that comes out of us (Matthew 15:17-20), and Paul even mentioned that there are certain acts/behaviors that will not inherit the kingdom of GOD and are works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11). These words did not come from the men, they came from GOD Himself.

But overall, the work of the salvation of Jesus Christ, was for people to receive the word of GOD through Christ Jesus, who through Him we would be made right standing with GOD. And if they chose to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and be reunited with the Father, they would not perish. They chose the truth.

In the next episode, we’re going to discuss the depth of salvation, eternal life. Until next time, Have a good day and have good night. Glory to the Lord. Bye.
