Heart, Hands, Feet

One day I was studying the scriptures and I landed on this thought, concerning the importance of repentance. I remembered how Jesus Christ washed the feet of his disciples, and how He said to Peter on John 13:8 (TPT), Peter looked at Jesus and said, “You’ll never wash my dirty feet—never!” “But Peter, if you don’t allow me to wash your feet,” Jesus responded, “then you will not be able to share life with me.” Also verse 10 (KJV), the WORD says, “Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.”

I also remembered Psalm 24:3-4, in which the WORD says, Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; Who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

When reading this, I was reminded that the WORD of GOD cleanses us, where we are not conformed to the pattern of this world, but are transformed by the renewing of our mind.  We can only be renewed in the mind by being in the WORD because that is how we draw close to GOD, knowing about Him better and better. That is how we spiritually grow. We are called to mature spiritually, crucifying the flesh and worshipping the Father in Spirit and in truth.

In John 15:3, the WORD says, Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. What does that mean? That means when you are in the WORD you are clean. You are pure. To go further, when you are in the WORD, the world would no longer influence you but the WORD will transform you. If I can go a bit further, that even what you do on earth, your everyday life, will be based on the truth you’ve heard from His WORD and are putting His WORD into practice by faith in love. Because faith comes by hearing and hearing the WORD of GOD (Romans 10:17).

Now I was reminded of another bible verse found Proverbs 6:16, in which the WORD says, These six things doth the LORD hate: Yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, Feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.

These are the things that  GOD hates and are even detestable to Him. It talks about the hands, the feet, and the heart of a person that gears toward sin.

As I said again, the WORD of GOD is the only WORD and the only thing that makes us pure. The WORD makes us clean. And with that, when you are cleansed in the WORD, there is spiritual growth, there is spiritual maturity, discerning between what is good versus what is evil, because when GOD calls us to come up higher, it is us coming to new levels, where sin cannot come nor abide, but we come to an obedience, yielding to the Spirit, crucifying the flesh, carrying our cross. Psalm 24, the speaker asks, who will ascend to the mountain of the LORD? It is those with clean hands and a pure heart.

The WORD says that we are the hands and the feet of  Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 2:10, the WORD says, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. How are we the workmanship of GOD? Well, how do you come to do a work? You use your hands and your feet; you hands to work and your feet to follow. But now how you do it, will come from the intentions of your heart.  In Proverbs 6:16, it mentions that the heart deviseth wicked imaginations. But how can you carry out the intentions of the heart? By your hands and your feet. Remember the hands will act and the feet will follow.

But we, the children of GOD who have been saved through the salvation of Christ Jesus, are called to have a pure heart, so that when our hearts have pure intentions, our hands will work on what is good as the feet follow.

Romans 10:15, the WORD says, And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

So while you are on earth, what are your hands doing or working on? What are the intentions of your heart? Where are you feet going?

It’s time to repent if your heart has not been right with GOD. It’s time to repent if the intentions of your heart did not align with the work of GOD that He has called us to do. Give yourself to the LORD, tell Him that you desire His will to be yours so that you will accomplish only His Will and fulfill His purpose that He has put you on earth.

It’s time to grow; growing in a sense to submit to His call for you. It’s time to have GOD’s intentions in our hearts, so that our hands, and our feet will do His good work.
