Reading the John Courson’s Application Commentary, there were certain things he mentioned that caught my attention. Abraham, known as the Father of faith, had two choices: either stay with his family and his household, or listen to what the Lord told him and go forth by faith into the land the Lord was going to take him (Genesis 12). But what happened begin an inner transformation where Abraham no longer worshipped idols but was given a heart to know God, to be faithful unto God and all of God’s promises by faith.

I was listening to a song by Don Moen, “Return to Me”, in which he sang this bible verse, leading me to read Jeremiah 24:7, in which the WORD says, “And I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.”

The Lord is calling back His children. Maybe you’ve known the Lord through your parents or a friend, or someone else. But the Lord is calling you forth into a personal relationship. A personal relationship where Jesus Christ is your LORD and Savior. That when you receive Him by confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart that GOD raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Where when you ask Him that you want to know Him more, as the Bible verse said above, He will give it.

So, the LORD wants to be your GOD; You be His people; a humble people, recognizing that He is GOD and that you are His creation, and that He wants you to get to know Him. In Ephesians 1:17, the WORD mentions to ask the LORD to give you wisdom and revelation to know Him better, so that you walk in the knowledge of Him.

I believe that every one of us has a desire in our heart and life to do something meaningful, discover who we are, and needing security. According to Courson’s Commentary, he explained these three desires, correlating them to the story of when the people were building the tower of Babel, in Genesis 11. Their desire was to build a tower that would reach heaven (doing something meaningful), making a name for themselves (identity), and lest they be scattered upon the earth (security).

We the creation, His likeness, are looking for these things. There’s nothing wrong with that. But where we might be looking will be wrong if we’re not looking for these things in GOD, who knows the call of our life, in whom we will find our identity, and where we are secure.

In the word of John Courson: “Everyone of us is either walking in Chapter 11, the babel mentality, or in Chapter 12, simply obeying GOD and seeking first the kingdom.”

So where are you right now, child of GOD? Are you wanting to build a life for yourself, or are you building for the kingdom of GOD, according to the call He has for you. Two foundations are being built, but which one will stand firm?

In the WORD of the LORD:
“So therefore know this: the essence of pursuing things for man’s pleasure will amount to nothing. For things are judged at the end of the day and it will determine whether what you produce will be of GOD or will it be of man.
So my children, choose whom you will serve, GOD or man? Hallelujah. I have spoken.”

From post, Who you are determines who you will be

Glory to the LORD.
