Offer yourself as a living sacrifice unto GOD
Romans 12:1-2, the WORD says,
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
The WORD says give your bodies to GOD because of the things He has done for you. And it is living and holy, where the flesh is dead and you are alive in the Spirit. The way to worship the LORD is in Spirit and TRUTH. We need to walk in the Spirit, there we cannot copy the behavior and customs of the world, its pattern, but we must let GOD transform our mind so we think differently. Then we will know the will of GOD then walk in it, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
The path of righteousness for His name sake, the path everlasting, in the path that He is making straight. Functioning in the Spirit and the flesh does not work, it is like when Saul, King Saul, went to find David to kill him but he found himself in the midst of prophets and the Spirit of GOD came on him, but he tore his clothes and laid naked on the ground, still prophesying. This was an example that your flesh can be intact but when it is mixed up with the spiritual, you end behaving “weird” (1st Samuel 19:23-24).
The way to live is to be dependent, weak, dry, and hungry, so that your ultimate source is GOD who fills you in every way.
“Then the body is helpless, but it is dominated by the power of the Spirit till it longs to breathe and act in the Spirit. It is beautiful” (Smith Wigglesworth).
Being dependent, weak, dry, and hungry are not bad things per se but it shows where your source comes from, who fills you: the world which leans on the flesh or the Father who through Christ gives you life and life in abundance. He wants you to depend on Him, when you’re weak He wants to make you strong, when you are dry, He wants to give you water so that you never thirst again. When you are hungry, He wants to fill it.
The example of the Israelites: the LORD wanted to see their faithfulness unto Him, trusting Him. But their flesh took over and started murmuring, complaining to Moses, which was complaining to GOD about what they did not have. Their view of living was limited to the flesh, and I believe the LORD wanted more so for them to live in the Spirit.
Our flesh does nothing but hinder the power of GOD to work through us fully.
“The righteousness of GOD is perfect development in your life of inward heart sanctification, where no defilement can enter, and the pure in heart always see GOD” (Smith Wigglesworth).
We are His, first and foremost because the earth is the LORD’s, the fullness thereof, the world and all who live in it(Psalm 24:1). But specifically, those who are in Christ, believed and received Him as LORD and savior, were given the power to be children of GOD (John 1:12). This specifically leads us to understand that those who are made alive with Christ, live themselves as a living sacrifice to GOD, the Father.
And living in the flesh is not what we’re supposed to be currently be doing right now but when we’re living in the Spirit, it is a whole new way of living in GOD. Therefore giving ourselves to Him by crucifying our flesh and its desires and allowing Him to breathe life, sanctifies us so that as we know His will, walk in it, we live as the new creation in Him that we are meant to live, the old has gone and the new has come.
Glory to the LORD
