In the time of Noah, the people were consistently thinking and imagining all kinds of evil and doing them (Genesis 6:5). We also, in this time, are living a time where ideas, beliefs, and thoughts are evil, not acknowledging nor desiring the will GOD, going outside the authority, the boundary lines of His will. There’s a lot of focus that gears toward “living in Noah’s time”, but let’s focus specifically on Noah. What was Noah doing during that time?
Noah was building on faith. What does that mean? The LORD told Noah what was to come, as the Holy Spirit shows us what is to come, as He leads us into all truth (John 16). The LORD told Noah to build the ark that was going to save him, his family and the 2×2’s animals. Noah, who heard the WORD and received the WORD, obeyed the WORD and it was credited him righteousness. Remember: Faith comes by hearing, hearing the WORD of GOD (Romans 10:17). Faith without works is dead (James 2:26).
Noah also was building on faith by speaking the truth. In 2 Peter 2:5, the WORD says that Noah was warning the world of GOD’s righteous judgement, as he was building the ark. He was getting ready as well as telling the people, I believe, to turn from their evil ways or the judgement of GOD will come on them. “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19. Another WORD, found in Isaiah 6:8, “Then I heard the LORD asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us? I said,”Here I am. Send me.”
We the church need to be awakened, spiritually awakened to what is going on around us because there are things that are coming that we ought to prepare for. And if we are not awakened, then we will be asleep like those who got swept away by the flood because they refused to listen to the WORD of the LORD. We will be like the foolish virgins who missed the wedding banquet of the bridegroom.
We need to constantly speak the truth. We have to continue to build the ark until it is done.
Are you building your ark, the way the LORD intended it to be, because it is the time to build your ark. We are to build the ark GOD has called us to build, with His instructions, which comes from the WORD, and the revelation of His WORD (Ephesians 1:17-19). When we talk about building the ark, it is the same as building the house on the rock, mentioned in Matthew 7. The LORD says, those who hear His WORD and do it, is like a house that is built on a rock. And when the storms come, they will not be moved.
We are the house that is built on the rock. We are the people who are build the ark, GOD’s presence.
So the WORD is saying that building your house by the WORD of GOD will help you, strengthen you to withstand troubles, evil, situations, schemes/assignments/and attacks of the enemy. And because we are in Christ, it is more beneficial because we are in Christ; we dwell in Him, meaning that everything He has is ours. His authority, His power, that tramples over snakes and scorpions and overcomes all powers of the enemy that nothing will cause harm to you nor me, because He has given His power/authority to us.
Think about this: the world, the universe was formed at GOD’s command (Hebrews 11:3). Therefore, His WORD is sustaining the universe, the world. When we consume, obey, and walk in the WORD, we are also sustained, contained by His WORD. And as we build our ark, according to the WORD, we are firm. According to the instructions of the LORD, who gave Noah what to build and how to build it, the ark kept Noah, his family, and the animals during the flood, for 40 days and nights. We, building GOD’s ark, will keep us as well.
So, the WORD is telling us that the WORD protects us. The WORD keeps us from the calamity that others might experience because they don’t have the LORD, and we should pray and plant the seed of truth as we speak the truth in love to them so that will they come to the knowledge of the LORD Jesus Christ. You need the WORD of the LORD to protect you against what the enemy attacks us in the most: the mind.
When you have the WORD, you use the Sword of the Spirit, the WORD of GOD to make the thoughts that exalt itself above the LORD bow down to the name of Jesus Christ, as you speak the WORD. The WORD also renews your mind so that as you identify yourself in the TRUTH, you will reject the lies of the enemies because you know what is true from LORD, and the stranger’s voice you will not follow.
And dwelling in His WORD is knowing who you are in Him as well, and knowing whose you belong to. This turns our eyes, ears, and mind to the one who sits in heaven (who also lives in us through Christ Jesus) looking down below to the earth, to the people, who knows/understands the intentions of our hearts because He created us (Psalm 33). This turns us to the one whose thoughts and ways are higher than ours, which leads us seek His face, His counsel so that we know what to do and how to do it so that we are walking in His Way.
Build on faith, the WORD of GOD, because faith comes by hearing and hearing the WORD of GOD. Hearing should be an automatic response to the WORD, but when you listen to the WORD, there should be an intentional act to receive the WORD, which leads you to believe the WORD and putting the faith you have in the WORD to works.
Prayer:
Abba Father GOD, in the mighty name of the LORD Jesus Christ, glory, honor, and thanksgiving be unto you because you are the LORD of the heavens and the earth. I come to you for this word. May your WORD be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, helping us, instructing us on how to build the ark that we should be building in this time. We choose to build on faith. We choose to build on your word. We choose to build because that is your will. Therefore, that you make all things abound, so that in all things, at all times, we have all that we need to abound in every good works, now and forevermore. I thank you and I bless you that you hear our prayers and that your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. May your unfailing love surround us. And LORD, that your power be made perfect in our weakness. Lead us and sanctify us in your truth by your Spirit. In Jesus Christ name I pray, Amen.
