I wanted to come before you to talk about Chapter 14 of the Book of Exodus. If you know the story prior to the this chapter, you would know about Moses, his birth in Egypt, the murder, the escape, and the burning bush moment that led Moses to go back to Egypt again to deliver the Israelite’s out of the slavery under Egypt.

Then we read about Moses going to back to Egypt, telling the people of the LORD that GOD was going to save them, then going to the Pharaoh and telling the him to let GOD’s people go. As the LORD hardened the Pharaoh’s heart and replied with a no, GOD displayed his glory, signs/miracles/wonders, to the Egyptians and also to the Israelite’s, to show who is the real GOD and that He’s the one that the Israelite’s should worship, when we read this in Exodus 20.

Now, let’s fast forward to the Red Sea, where I really want to talk about. The Israelite had already seen the wonders of the LORD, the signs/miracles/wonders, that portray the glory of the LORD. They’ve seen how the LORD took care and provided for them. And they have even seen with their eyes, how the Egyptians finally let them go and give them the treasures of Egypt.

Now, they’re camping in a land that’s before the Red Sea, and then they see the Egyptians coming toward them. They get scared, panicking, and fearful. They think they have nowhere to run, then they start crying out to GOD and telling Moses that it was better for them to live with the Egyptians then sticking where they were and dying there.

Then Moses told them to stand still and not be afraid. Then the LORD told Moses, to raise the staff so they could cross over on dry ground to the other side. Long story short, the Egyptians died in the Red Sea when the waters fell on them.

What is the purpose of the story and what am I telling you? When you and I became Christians, through the LORD Jesus Christ, who Moses was liken unto, He brought us out of Egypt, out of our sins, out of slavery by freeing/redeeming/delivering us. We left Egypt, walking through the wilderness with the pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night. He was always watching over and taking care of us. But now we are at the Red Sea, a situation, a trouble, a mountain that may have caused us to question our faith because what is seen before us is impossible. How can  we overcome this situation? That is what the Israelites thought, as well as telling themselves that we rather be in Egypt, a place where there was slavery and sin, a place that GOD delivered them from.

Every one of us Christians are going to encounter troubles/situations because we are still living in the world, even Paul says that. We see things as impossible, and then we quickly loose focus of  the One who got us out of Egypt. Beloved, brothers and sisters,  we need to have our spiritual eyes, minds, focused on Him. At this time, as with other times. The reason I am saying this is because the church has been falling asleep, not spiritually aware of what is going on around us. We ought to walk in the Spirit, knowing and seeing what the LORD sees and let it be revealed unto us by the Holy Spirit.

When the Israelites could only see the Red Sea, rather than remembering the spiritual, glorious manifestation of GOD’s powers toward the Egyptians, their response was physical, carnal. Our response cannot be like this, responding from a carnal thought. We need to have a renewed mind, and not see things as a political or whatever standpoint but a spiritual standpoint. Ask yourself, what is the enemy doing? For we cannot be blinded of his schemes. It cannot go past our radar. Also, ask yourself this: what should I be doing at this hour. Ask the Holy Spirit and let Him lead you into all truth.

Therefore, we need to be build on the WORD more so than before. Your position of who and whose you are is important to recognize at this time because you speaking and standing on the truth, His WORD,  is important in this hour. Your position as a light of the world is critical in this time/day. Are you going to allow your eyes to see things and understand things in the carnal way and continue to fall asleep or are you going to be awake/alert, and walk in the Spirit and respond in the Spirit?

There is a time, which has been already been mentioned, that is coming and you remembering who you and whose you are is important, which in turn leads you to stand, walk in love, walk in power, and sound mind. Build your house on the Rock, not by your might, nor by power, but by His Spirit.

So what is your Red Sea decision, respond carnally, or respond spiritually?
