I wanted to talk about David and Goliath. The WORD says, the LORD looks into the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). As you can see from the story of David, David was after GOD’s own heart; trusting in Him, depending on Him, praising Him, seeking His face, and obedient to Him. This is not saying that David was a perfect man, but as we look into David’s life, he trusted and depended on the LORD.
If GOD looked into your heart, would He see you as the one who trusted and depended on Him? This is not to put anyone down, but to speak in TRUTH and say that He is looking for hearts that are dependent on Him, to trust Him even when times are tough.
Paul mentions in 1st Thessalonians 3:4, the WORD says, “Even while we were with you, we warned you that troubles would soon come- and they did, as you well know.” So look into your heart and determine whether your heart will remain faithful to Him. Let His WORD grow into the soil of your heart, producing 30, 60, 100 folds of TRUTH!
Let not your seed of TRUTH be tossed into the heart soil that is full of rocks/thorns where TRUTH cannot grow nor be fruitful or multiply. Let Him turn your heart to flesh. Cultivate the soil of your heart so that the seed of TRUTH will be deeply planted in you and you won’t be moved even when tough situation comes because you are deeply rooted in Him.
God is looking for hearts that will be like David, knowing to stand their ground/fight the good fight of faith by continuously going forward and say, “The LORD who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine” (1st Samuel 17:37).
And then as victory, “…triumphed over the Philistine with only a sling and a stone, for he had no sword” (1 Samuel 17:50). Set your heart on the LORD Jesus Christ your strength, and you will win. You will stand. Because you are a Child of the Most High GOD, strong in Christ Jesus.
