I was reading a Wigglesworth book and something he said caught my attention. This is what was said,

“And the life clothed upon life and the life within the body eating up every mortality, every sense, every human desire, everything that has caused grief, sorrow, brokenness of heart, interfering with our rest, stopping the sinning of our face, making us feel how sorry we were. God wants to have his way with us, live in us to eat up everything, till the body shall only be a body filled with the Spirit of life, the body only to be an existence only for the temple as the temple for the Holy Spirit – then what?”

When I was reading this, it just opened another revelation that GOD has called us to live to be like Christ, or better yet, to live Christ, where the Holy Spirit fully lives us. In Romans 8:29 TPT,  the WORD says, “For He knew all about us before we were born and He destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of His Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like Him.”

Another bible verse that I want to place before you is in Galatians 2:20 NIV, in which the WORD says, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Another verse, in 1 John 4:4 NIV, says, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

What does this shows us? That it is Christ that lives in us. It is Christ that is active in us. It is in Him that should live life rather than we ourselves. Going back to what Wigglesworth said, what he said caught my attention because Jesus Christ is life and was also the light of men (John 1). Because He lives in us, the Spirit of Christ, we have life. And everything that is dead must go.

Jesus Christ has come so that we can live life and life in abundance. And in order to live like this, we must crucify our flesh with its passion and its desire. But we are not able to crucify our flesh by ourself, it is only by the Spirit, the Spirit of life.

In Romans 8:13, the WORD of life says,

“For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”

So if you have the Spirit of Christ, you have the Spirit of life.

So if you are struggling to put down something that is not life giving, know that you have the Spirit of life in you that can help you crucify these struggles and putting these fleshly things to death. So we are called to live a life that is clothed in life, the Life of Christ.

I am reminded of the story in the Book of Exodus 7:8-13 when Aaron and Moses went before Pharaoh and told him to let God’s people go and the Pharaoh did not budge. So Aaron threw his staff to show the mighty power of GOD. And Pharaoh’s sorcerer and magicians did the same. But the MAJOR difference here is that Aaron’s staff or snake swallowed all the snakes. I wrote a post about this here.

This is what GOD wants to do with us. He wants to swallow all the lies that we have believed from the enemy. He wants us to be filled so much with life that we will be set free. He wants us to be filled so much with Him that we will be filled with Him, who gives life and life in abundance.

GOD is life, and in Him there is no death. And where there is death, life must swallow it up and life reigns. In Isaiah 25:8, the prophet spoke this prophecy of Jesus Christ and what He did for the world:

“He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove His people’s disgrace from all the earth.”

So the LORD came to swallow up death, physically, and spiritually. That what was dead within you, He wants to swallow it and place abundant life in it so that you are set free. He wants to swallow every fleshly desires that catches our attention away from Him. He wants to swallow every fear, sadness, anger, and anything that separates you from GOD.

While we are being transformed, walking a consecrated journey with our LORD, let us ALL surrender all things that is death within us that we may have that only He knows. He knows our heart and we have to expose these things, by the Holy Spirit. We cannot say that we have not sinned, but yes we are declared clean because of His blood and the righteousness we have in GOD in Christ Jesus. That’s not going to change as we continually trust in Jesus Christ. But there is a process of pruning, discipline, and transforming so that there is less of our old nature and the new nature in Christ that is being formed in us actually comes forth that Abba is calling us to live in.

Here’s a prayer that you can say in your own time, according to Psalm 139:23-24 NIV:

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
