I was reading the bible one day, specifically Psalm 92. It is actually a song as well, in which I would post below. It is a beautiful song. But either way, I was ready the first few chapters, but one particular verse stuck out to me, in verse 2 of the Psalm 92, in KJV.
“To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.”
I then started praying then a revelation came forth, that my GOD, your GOD is faithful GOD through the night. I always thought to myself that night was literally night, but He revealed so lightly yet wonderfully that I finally understood what the verse meant.
First I want to let you know this:
You and I, child of GOD, who are the righteousness of GOD through Jesus Christ, are children of day, or you can say morning. In 1 Thessalonians 5:5, the WORD says in the KJV, “Ye are children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.” Going to to verse 6, the WORD tells us to not sleep and but always be awake and sober.
So what does this mean? We are children of light. As Jesus Christ said we are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). How? Because we have Jesus Christ living in us. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). So if Jesus Christ is greater in us, then His light, which is in us, is greater than the darkness, because when light shines in the darkness, the darkness cannot contain it (John 1:5). The world is darkness, and we have to shine our light in the darkness.
Let’s a step back and focus on the day and night deal thing for a few. So if you know, because I knew somewhat, but thank the Holy Spirit for revealing these things to little children a little more clearly, that night is darkness and day is light. I want to give another bible verse to solidify what I am explaining here.
John 8:12 AMP says, “Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, ‘I am the light of the world he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
We have to know that we have the light of Jesus Christ in us to light the world.
So as Children of GOD, we are children of day, children of the morning, the Bright Morning Star Jesus Christ (Revelation 22:16).
I want to highlight this because I want to let you know that you are children of light. You are children of the day because you are in Christ.
So what is night? Those who are in the darkness. Those who have not received the LIGHT, Jesus Christ, as LORD and Savior. They are walking in sin. But it can also be those that have been slumbering. Those who are Christians but are lukewarm or growing cold. Because when it is night, you sleep. You are spiritually asleep. You are spiritually dead.
But GOD is calling us, to be the light, to be awake, to be on watch.
So I just wanted to get through that before I get to this point.
Why did I name the blog post title faithful through the night? Because as we, Children of GOD, are living in a dark world. We live in world that needs our light to shine bright. But in order for us to light up the world, we need Jesus Christ to fill us with His light. Sometimes it can get challenging living in this world. The LORD Jesus Christ says that in this world, we will have tribulation (John 16:33). Meaning, we will experience the night, the darkness. There will be challenges in our lives that tests our faith.
But thanks be to GOD, our LORD, our provider, our comforter, He is faithful even through the night. He is faithful through the night when things gets difficult. As long we set our mind on Him, and not on anything else, we continue to walk as the light even through the darkness.
I just thought of Paul, the other apostles and followers of Jesus that had to go through the dark times, but I would believe that it wasn’t dark to them as they thought. The light within them was greater and brighter than the darkness, the challenges they encountered. As one of the Apostles mentioned, that the momentary troubles are producing for us an eternal weight of glory (2 Corinthians 4:17).
The reason I’m writing this is because I was comforted by the LORD that He was with me through my momentary troubles. And He has continually been comforting me. Now I wanted to share this to you as well, that as the light of the world, GOD is lighting you up even if you’re going through the night, a darkness, a momentary trouble.
GOD is faithful through the night. He still stands by you through even in the midst of darkness. But what is interesting about this is that this darkness is not darkness at all because the light shines and lights the way to where you need to go and what to do in the midst of the momentary trouble. When we encounter troubles or situation, the LORD is faithful in the way that He lights our path on how to overcome the darkness. How to shine our light in the darkness that darkness cannot contain it. Hallelujah. ☺️
So, have faith and trust our faithful God, whose faithful with us all through the night. He does not only shine the light but makes a way when there seems to be no way.
Oh here’s the song that I mentioned:
