I’m currently reading the book of Leviticus, learning and desiring to explore the history of the Levites, offerings, and much more.
Before I continue, the Holy Spirit mentioned this me when I was writing and journaling:
the reason why we do not trust God is because we do not trust His laws and commands.
Now let’s continue. As I am reading the book of Leviticus, I decided to look at the commentary of Chick Smith from the Blue Letter Bible App, which I recommend.
There were a lot interesting things he mentioned, all glory to God over all, but one caught my attention:
But in order to fellowship, and the word means “oneness”, in order for me to have oneness with God, I must be obedient to God.”
Chuck Smith, Verse by Verse study on Leviticus 1-10 Commentaries; Blue Letter Bible App
He also added Amos 3:3, which says, in the KJV:
“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
Now what does that mean? Going back to what the Holy Spirit said, when we do not trust in Him, we do not trust His commandment.
Now I’m not talking about the 10 commandments because we’re in the new covenant with God in Christ Jesus and His blood. I just wanted to get that out of the way.
In order to be one with God, we need to follow His commands. John 14:20 says, in the AMP:
“On that day [when that time comes] you will know for yourselves that I’m in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”
This reminds me of how our temple, where our spirit and soul reside, is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Now my questions is this: how can the Holy Spirit work in us and perfectly dwell in us if we do not follow the will of the Father? You have to believe that the WORD is good and therefore choose to follow it, so that the will of God works in you (John 3:21).
Now there is a reason why we do not trust in His commands: we do not want to let go of our godship. What does that mean? It simply means “my will, my way” “my house, my rules” type of deal.
This means that we have tended to ourselves and not to the things of God. We have not crucified our flesh with its passion and it’s desires so that we can walk in the will of the Father.
James 4:7 says, in the AMP:
“So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.”
What does submit mean? To be under leadership, cooperating, under one’s control, giving in. In regard to the Father, to Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, we need to submit, be one with the Lord. So we do not only obey the LORD but we walk according to His ruling over us.
We have made Him our LORD and savior, so to go further, submit to how He can use us is being one with Him. Like Jesus said said in John, He cannot do anything without the Father. And we cannot walk in His will not His commands if we do not submit to Him.
So we need to let of our godship (got the name from a CBN article). And the question may also be this:
Are you receiving the Word like the seed on the rock/thorns? Then we need to cultivate the hard soil that is in our hearts to allow the truth, the Word to sink deep in the soil so that it can grow 30/60/100 fold (Matthew 13).
Have fellowship with the Holy Spirit when asking these questions:
- Why do you not trust the LORD?
- Why do you not trust in His commands?
Ask the Holy Spirit concerning this and let Him reveal you the truth so that you can repent and be set free. Then ask for help from the Lord to strengthen you. He will strengthen you and help you, and uphold you with His righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).
Do not allow fear to hinder you and delay you to trust in God. We can trust in Him fully!
May the LORD Jesus Christ give power/love/sound mind. May He fill you with life and life in abundance as you submit and come close to Him. That the lies of enemy be exposed, be thwarted, and purged from your life. May His love and truth seep in you through and through. In Jesus name Amen!
