I was reading the WORD and a particular verse stuck out to me.
“Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.” Psalms 50:23 NIV

Have you ever heard that the mind is a battlefield? I was talking to a friend, when the topic of mindset came up. When we were talking about it, Psalm 50:23 came to mind. Here’s the TPT version as well:
“The life that pleases me is a life lived in the gratitude of grace, always choosing to walk with me in what is right. This is the sacrifice I desire from you. If you do this, more of my salvation will unfold for you.”

This should help us wonder how we should live our before the LORD. Are we resting in the LORD that leads to offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, or we allowing the things of this world to drives us from this?
In 1 Peter 2:9, the WORD says we are called to live differently because we are set apart for the LORD, a royal priesthood, and a holy nation.
I want to mention again that the mind is a battlefield because whatever may pop in our mind may lead us to question who we are in Christ. Therefore, this gives us the choice to accept or reject these thoughts. Our identity in Christ, especially concerning the mind should align with these verses:
You are a new creation in Christ, where the old has gone and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). Therefore, because you are a new creation, your thoughts are renewed as well. Philippians 4:8 mentions that our thoughts are to be
- noble
- right
- true
- pure
- lovely
- admirable
- praiseworthy
- excellent
because we have the mind of Christ. It is not us that live but Christ that lives within us (2 Corinthians 2:16, Galatians 2:20).
So what is not the mind of Christ? Let’s go to Romans 1:28-29 (TPT), which says:
“And because they thought it was worthless to embrace the true knowledge of God, God gave them over to a worthless mind-set, to break all rules of proper conduct. Their sinful lives became full of every kind of evil, wicked schemes, greed, and cruelty. Their hearts overflowed with jealous cravings, and with conflict and strife, which drove them into hateful arguments and murder. They are deceitful liars full of hostility. They are gossips…“

Let’s look at another bible verse, Hebrews 3:12, which says, in the TPT,
“So search your hearts every day, my brothers and sisters, and make sure that none of you has evil or unbelief hiding within you. For it will lead you astray, and make you unresponsive to the living God.”

So when we were apart from Christ, we allowed and accepted whatever thoughts, even depraving ones, to guide our lives. But thanks be to GOD, who shows us what we should think about and how to live by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, shows us in Phil. 4:8 how our thoughts should be. So when we align ourselves, being one with Christ in thoughts and mind, we are walking in the will of GOD.
So we are called to live differently than the world, particularly when situations arise in our lives. When something happens, we are not worry but in all things cast our cares to Him for He cares for us (Psalm 55:22; Phil. 4:6-7; Proverbs 3:5-6).
So what am I saying in regard to all of this?
You and I, as I encourage you and I, are to continuously live to honor GOD as we remind ourselves that we are for Him, therefore, we are to live for Him.
Honoring GOD can extend to multiple things such as forgiving others as GOD forgives us. Loving people and praying for our enemies, not just reading the word but studying it as well. Praying without ceasing by praying in tongues. That is the life that we are called to live in because we are called to be different. And let us all do in the grace of GOD and the power of the Holy Spirit, for we cannot do it ourselves. I hope you’re spiritually growing in this journey as I am on being fully dependent on GOD for He is our GOD and Father whose unfailing love endures forever.
