One particular day, I made the decision to clean my closet. I do this every couple of months per year, because I do not like clutter. Or my room to be exact.
Looking through my closets I found some clothes that I no longer wore. Items that I no longer was interested in wearing or having.
As I was ridding of old clothes and things, I realized that this is how GOD prunes us. He rids of the old and brings on the new. He removes the old beige coat and puts on a new leather jacket.
This made me think of how GOD desires new things for us. In every season, there is a time for every purpose. In every season, GOD prepares you for the new, so he rids of the old so that you can fully embrace the new, without bringing in the old.
Think of the Israelites after they left Egypt. The reason they did not reach the promised land in a matter of 7 days but 40 years was because of their complaining. They did not get rid of the old, so how could they embrace the new? GOD let them out of Egypt but Egypt was not out of them ( someone said that but I do not remember who).
You cannot keep wearing the same old thing that you used to wear. There are new things arising, and you have got to get rid of the old to receive the new.
It is the same thing with ideas, beliefs, and way of doing things. GOD is calling us, to do the new things He is doing this year, in your new season, and we need to ready ourselves to embrace it.
“Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19 AMP)
This new thing may be out of our comfort zone but GOD is not calling us to our comfort zone. He’s calling us to be children of GOD, mighty warriors, without fear, but with power, love, and sound mind. Besides, He alone is our comfort.
So out of this cleaning my closet and my room, I am reminded that GOD prunes us in our old seasons to embrace the new season. The seasons that we are in were to maybe develop certain abilities, position, ideas, so they could be carried to our new seasons as well.
But this is not a one time thing, the pruning season I mean. It is a continuation. And it will be a continuation until, I believe, Jesus Christ comes.
Are you “cleaning” out your closet? So are you in a season of ridding the old? Do you sense that GOD wants you to get ready for the new thing He is doing for you soon? Keep praying and spending time with Him about this matter, and I believe He will make things clearer for you as you keep removing the old and embracing the new HE has for you.
Until Next Time.
