If you indeed are a Christian and believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, then I urge you to consider that pruning will be involved.
God will change how you speak, think, do, and live if you’re willing.
***I’m writing this because I learned some things that convinced me of my lifestyle. God abides. ***
This is currently my experience, but I want to share this if anyone is going through this as well.
We can’t do it on our own, but we can with God in Christ. As the Lord is holy, we should also live sacred lives: in our thoughts, words, actions, and lifestyles.
What are some things that you are holding on to today? In your words, thoughts, actions, lifestyle? If God told you to let it go, would you do it, or would it be hard to let go of it?
And no, you will not change overnight, but when you let God prune you, it will hurt. It hurts not because you’ve gotten so used to it and mainly because of our self-desires.
And no, He’s not pruning you because He hates you. But a loving God, who has no flaws, expects you to live holy as He does.
Writing this is hard for me, but I have to.
Are you holding on to a habit or lifestyle that may not be good for you, or you know it’s not good, but you still hold on to it because of its comfort? Pleasure?
God would sometimes change you before changing your situation.
It’s hard letting go of specific ideas and beliefs we have learned in the past and are currently doing in the present.
But in the end, even if we’re having a hard time letting go of it because of our flesh, we NEED to.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind. Then you can test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:2 NIV.
