Hello, I hope you are all doing. This is post is going concerning the Mercy of GOD and we were going to look from the primarily Hosea 2:5-8.

By reading Hosea 2:5-8, I seem to understand that God brings back His children to their first love, Him. As you can read from Hosea, the person speaking says they will return to their lover, who gives them food and drinks.

This is happening to us in this modern day. We are enjoying things that we believe are our joy, the things that make us happy when the LORD gave us the blessings to enjoy these in the first place. This is called an idol.

Then we see along the verse that God makes a wall or a blockage to keep them from further going along the path He has not planned for them to go to. The one way I can think about this is that He stops you from going into further destruction.

Also, He wants you to worship Him. To worship Him as the First LOVE.

For example, Jesus Christ in Luke 15, starting in verse 11, told the story of the prodigal son who had an inheritance that he took with him, leaving his father to go into the world.

In the story, the son spends his money, loses friends, and even eats in the same pig sty as the pigs. Then, all of a sudden, he thought to himself of going back to his father.

This sounds relatively similar to what verse 7b says in Hosea 2, “I will go back to my husband as at first, for then I was better off than now.”

Luke 15:18 says, “I will set out and go back to my Father and say to Him…”

As you can see, I believe that God sets a wall before us where when all things we experience fall short, our hearts bring us back to the Maker, Our Father God.

Our God, the LORD, “brings death and makes alive; He brings down to the grace and raises. The LORD sends overtly and wealth; He humbles, and He exalts. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; He seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. For the earth’s foundation are the LORD’s; He has set the world on them.” 1 Samuel 2:8

Our God can do anything!

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

This verse tells us that God sets things in motion for us, even planting in us what He desires: eternity.

So, if God can place a desire in your heart, He can also block you from a path to protect you from destruction. He can block you from leaning on your own understanding so that you rely on His understanding.

“Trust in the LORD your God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.” Pro5verbs 3:5-6

I remember when there was a season a few years ago when some of us Christians were into this manifestation thing and crystals and stuff, but bless God, He had to open our eyes to the lies of the enemy.

There was even a time when I was into Astrology, mostly looking into my horoscope because I didn’t seek God; I sought other things to seek my future. But thank the LORD I am no longer back there. I was heading to my own destruction. That was not me seeking God but, in all honesty, idols or demonic worship.

God definitely put a wall to stop us from going further. Isn’t that a good God?

So, in my previous lifestyle, God had to bring me back to Him multiple times. Relationships He disagreed with, business ventures, and even watching movies that were not good. He saved me from numerous Idols I worshipped. Even disobeying God is an idol; I did much of that, even in ignorance.

But by the grace of God, a prayerful and understanding mother, and faithful intercessors, His love is so deep and compassionate that he set me free and brought me back to be His Son or daughter if you want to get technical here.

This reminds me of a verse in John 10:28-30 where Jesus says when we receive His salvation, He gives us eternal life, and we are in His hands, as we are also in the Father. And I love this particular verse Jesus says, “My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all…”

God is so great that nothing can stop Him from bringing you back to Him. If he did it in the past, He will do it again. All things are possible with God!!!

He did to me, with the help of intercessions, meaning people praying on behalf of you for God to lead you back to Him, serve Him, and live as sons and daughters. And He is doing it with you as well.

And that’s what happened in the prodigal son story in Luke 15:11-32. The prodigal Son wanted to be called a servant after what he did because he did not think he was worthy of being called a son after his behavior.

But the father would not have none of that. He had a party for the son because “…this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.”

And that’s how God is with us. He rejoices when we return to Him, even if He is doing it.

But that’s the good thing about it: God, all in all, desires us!

Unfortunately, some Christians go to the world to seek pleasures that, as you can see in the story, are short and never satisfying. They’re thorns that we need to pluck from our lives.

We need to remember our first LOVE because it is only in Him that we are joyful and enjoying our life. It is not the things but the One who gives us the items.

It brings us down to the bottom, the pit, or, if I can say, the pigs. I do not know about you, but I do not want to associate myself with pigs.

Just a verse that brings to remembrance, “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet and turn and tear you to pieces.” Matthew 7:6 NIV

Nevertheless, let’s look at what the prodigal son’s father did…

When the son was walking down the road, the father was looking for his son! As the father saw him, the Bible says that the father had compassion for him, the son.

Blessed be the Lord God who redeems you, In Christ Jesus, from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion (Psalm 103: 4).

When He calls you, when you are His, he will do whatever it takes to wall you so that all you can say is, “I will go back to my Father because I was better off than now…”

Isn’t that a loving Father, though? Isn’t that a good God we serve who is big and great yet looks down and has compassion on His children, His creation?

So, my brothers and sisters in Christ, I urge you to look into your life and consider if God is the center of your life.

Also, can you remember when you were in place, a dead end, if I can say, and God brought you back from the pit? From your ignorance?

Let us all give thanks and praise to God in Christ Jesus, who saved us. Bless His Mighty and Holy name!

Baruch HaShem Adonai
