Jesus Christ in the Passover.
Hello All!
Baruch Hashem Adonai = Blessed be the name of the LORD!
I hope you are well wherever you are and in whatever you do. May the LORD bless your day and your life, in Jesus’ Name, who meets our needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus!
During the Passover, I was led to read, meditate and understand the meaning of the Passover. This has been ongoing from last year but was deeper this Passover to Resurrection Sunday. The WORD I read was Exodus 12.
So Passover, according to the Hebrews (meaning Israelite), is an honor to the LORD (the I AM) who delivered the Israelites from Egypt. By God’s chosen vessel, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt from the hand of Pharoah. If you’ve read Exodus 12, God displayed signs, wonders, and plagues through Moses and Aaron across the land of the Egyptians, but not touching the Hebrews.
The Bible, especially the OLD Testament, reveals Jesus Christ, especially Him being the sacrifice for our sins. This is what I am going to provide in this post the Passover is the revelation of Jesus Christ.
In the Passover, the Hebrews were commanded to eat certain foods which would be memorable and an honor to the LORD. It was the roasted Lamb, bitter herbs, and eating unleavened bread.
So let’s begin with the Lamb. The Lamb was to be one year old and without blemish. This verse reminds us that the Lamb, Jesus Christ, lived on this earth without imperfection or sin. There was a man of GOD whom I just listened to and mentioned a similar verse that highlights that Jesus Christ had no fault, even before Pilate said he found no fault in Jesus (Luke 23:4)! If you want to watch the video, here is the link (this is also for French speakers if you are a french speaker). Here is another link to go deeper with the Passover to Resurrection.
Next, I want to mention the unleavened bread (Exodus 12). During the Passover, the Israelites were to eat the roasted lamb and the unleavened bread. If you read Matthew 16:6, Jesus tells the disciples to beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees. If you can think in terms of those priests, it was their teachings, even their ways. And if you think of how yeast grows until it makes bread complete, this was the yeast with the Pharisees. It was not good yeast within them.
Going back to Exodus, the bread to be eaten without yeast represents Jesus Christ, who was without yeast. He was the Lamb, the Christ that knew no sin or nothing perverse. This was the same with the blood because the lamb was to be without blemish. How great is the revelation of Jesus Christ? Baruch Hashem Adonai!!!
One last thing I wanted to discuss is the final plague, the death of the firstborn. I mainly wanted to discuss the blood that covered the lintels and the doorpost on each Israeli door of the Israelites. God told Moses to tell the Israelites to cover the lintels and doorposts with the lamb’s blood.
So what did the lamb’s blood do for the people of GOD? It saved them from the angel of destruction. Think about it: the lamb’s blood was potent enough to protect the people of GOD from the angel of destruction. God himself could have safeguarded the His people, but it was something about putting the blood of an unblemished lamb to save them from the angel of destruction that killed their firstborn. Therefore, how much more can the blood of Jesus, the rightful Lamb, cleanse you and cover you from all conscience act that leads to death (Hebrew 9:14).
How much more can the blood of Jesus purify you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness? How much more can the blood of Jesus protect you, as it did with the Israelites, from the enemy who wants to steal, kill, and destroy?
I never understood the purpose of the blood of Jesus, but now I do. So I plead the blood to cleanse and protect me, my family, my locations, etc.
In summary, the Passover is a significant revelation of Jesus Christ how. Passover is an honor to the LORD on how He delivered His people from the bondage of slavery and is a revelation of Jesus in how He was going to save us. Isn’t that great?!
Do you have any revelation that you received from the LORD regarding Exodus 12? If you desire, write it in the comment below! Let us know so that we may continuously draw to GOD and give thanks unto Him, whose wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are far beyond us! Glory be to His name!
I hope this blog blessed you!
